Jealousy...Greened Eyed Monster, Not likely!

Second Life is a place of incredible and at times "intense" reactions and relationships. BF/GF's alike pleasantly can experience relationships without being in the same room, same house, same city or even country...but what you gain by that is...being able to interact with another person that you are connected with without ever being with them but on the flip side a whole lot of potential anxiety, remorse, highs that are incredible, but also some crashing lows. You can't see that person, unless they allow you to "map" them (is that stalking?) and seriously being in a chat box with another person, while they are in another SIM may be quite erotic but leaves a person with some dried out senses. I've heard over and over "I trust my GF/BF" but really we can only trust that person as far as you can throw them. I've heard stories, read articles, and experienced some of the "highs" and "lows" but you can trust someone only so much. Second Life can bring a great relationship to a screaming halt. Jealousy isn't the green eyed monster, but human sexual behavior is. People make choices every time they log in. People can choose to remain loyal with someone with or without "extra curricular" activities and many live this way. People can include their significant other in "activities" which happens quite often but what MOST OF US can't deal with is the "perception" of deceit. Is it jealousy? Not in my so very humble opinion. As long as I am made to feel that my significant other is giving me part of himself, then I have no complaints. BUT if I am being jousted for someone else, something else, or ignored, YES I have an issue with that. I've always made it very clear that I will not be competing for time. It is MY TIME TOO. Jealousy of anyone that one person cares about IS HUMAN NATURE, get over it. It can be used as a gauge for feelings....but yes it can lead to stalking behavior if it is over the FDA regulated amount. What we don't want is the perception that someone is telling another person the same thing that made us fall for that person to begin with, and with IM's the world will never know.
